BOARD HIGHLIGHTS

Rising Sun-Ohio County Community School Corporation

July 8, 2008

Carol Stapleton resigned as High School Drama Club Sponsor.

Several high school ECA positions were approved. Mr. Majewski stated that there were no changes from last school year.

The following Middle School ECA positions were approved: Kristin Market as Middle School Boys’ Cross Country Coach, Chandra Phillips as Girls’ Middle School Cross Country Coach, Molly Martin for seventh grade volleyball and Lindsey Merica for eighth grade volleyball.

The price of breakfast was increased from $.75 to $1.00. Mr. Patz reported that $.75 was not covering the cost of the breakfast. The Superintendent noted that the breakfast cost to students has never seen an increase, while the corporation’s costs continue to increase.

Permission was granted to advertise for the fuel, milk and bread bids for the 2008-2009 school year.

The 2008-09 textbook fees were approved. Mr. Patz noted that some of the grade levels saw increases, and some of the grades have decreases. The Superintendent stated that the number and cost of workbooks are major factors in the overall per student cost.

The Board set a meeting for Tuesday, July 15th at 6:00PM to discuss the possibility of hiring a teacher.
