BOARD MINUTES

Rising Sun-Ohio County Community School Corporation

July 30, 2009

A special session of the Board of School Trustees was held as advertised on July 30, 2009 at 7:20 P.M. in the Administration Building. Members present were Timothy Elbright, Felix Massey III, Corey Potts, Harlan Holt Hoffman, Christopher Whitham and Superintendent Stephen Patz. Also present were Henry Pictor, Patty Huff, and Tim Hillman.

The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Mr. Patz presented a recommendation of Nicole Riddell Bailey for the ½ Title I Teacher/1/2 Title I Teachers’ Aide position. Upon motion by Harlan Holt Hoffman and seconded by Christopher Whitham to accept the recommendation, members voted as follows: Aye – Harlan Holt Hoffman, Christopher Whitham, Timothy Elbright, and Felix Massey III; Nay – Corey Potts.

The Superintendent presented Drew Powell, Danielle Roeder, and DeAnn Lillie to be hired as Teachers’ Aides at OCEMS. Upon motion by Timothy Elbright and seconded by Harlan Holt Hoffman, members voted as follows: Aye – Timothy Elbright, Harlan Holt Hoffman, and Felix Massey III; Nay – Corey Potts and Christopher Whitham.

Mr. Patz recommended Emmanuel Sarikie as Middle School Head Soccer Coach, Heather Cook as Middle School Assistant Soccer Coach, Chandra Phillips and Kristen Market as Middle School Cross-Country Coaches, Molly Martin as 8^th Grade Volleyball Coach, and Gina Kramer as 6^th & 7^th Grade Volleyball Coach. Upon motion by Christopher Whitham and seconded by Corey Potts to accept the recommendations, members voted as follows; Aye – Christopher Whitham, Corey Potts, Timothy Elbright, Harlan Holt Hoffman, and Felix Massey III.

There was a brief discussion about the possibility of purchasing PDA’s at OCEMS.

The Board of School Trustees of the Rising Sun-Ohio County Community School Corporation did not discuss any subject matter in executive session other than the topic specified in the public notice.

The meeting adjourned at 7:25 P.M.
